About The Author
Lanny R. Zatzkis
The author was born in Houma, Louisiana, four years before his family’s 1948 move to Shreveport, Louisiana. There he spent afternoons after school delivering newspapers, teaching Hebrew, taking violin lessons and participating in activities at the local YMCA. After his high school graduation in 1960 he spent a year in Israel on a work/study program including working on kibbutzim and moshavim. In 1961, he entered Tulane University in a pre-med program. The author changed his educational direction entering law school in 1965 and graduating in 1967. The author discusses some of the cases he handled and how they affected him. In addition, he discusses his extra curricular activities of skiing and sailing. The author began his memoir in an effort to share his life with his eight grandchildren but expanded its scope when friends encouraged him to share his life adventures with them.
